This effect is a great choice for making your voice sound like an inhuman machine. The Robot effect is similar to the autotune effect common in music, which makes the voice singing a song sound like an android. This effect is perfect for creating a radio news anchor or sportscaster character. The Radio effect makes a voice sound as if it is coming over the airwaves on an old-fashioned radio. This effect is excellent for creating a voice reminiscent of a monster or demon. The Very Low pitch effect creates a deep, ominous-sounding voice. This high-pitched effect is perfect for creating voices for animated cartoon characters. The Very high pitch effect creates a weird, squeaky voice. With this effect, a young girl’s voice can be made to sound like a woman, and a woman’s voice can be made to sound like a man. The Low pitch effect has a deepening effect on the voices in your video. With this effect, a male’s voice can be made to sound like a female’s, and a woman’s voice can be made to sound like a young girl. The High pitch effect raises the pitch of the voice to sound significantly higher. This is an excellent effect for creating the illusion of a voice on a phone call. It sounds slightly muffled and tinny, with occasional static interference. The Telephone effect makes the voice sound as if it is coming through a telephone call. Muffled voices may be harder to understand but can add the sense that a speaker is far away or speaking through a barrier like a closed door. The Muffled effect dampens the sound of a voice, making it sound as if it is coming from a distance or through a buffer. The sounds overlap, creating a dramatic, distorted effect. Now, create your surrounding voice using Echo Recorder. The Echo effect creates a reverberation so that each sound is repeated several times at increasingly reduced volume even as the next sound is being produced. However, unlike most other sites, Skitch allows you to combine image capture, editing and uploading into one application, meaning there is no need to switch between programs or have multiple applications running at once. Like other photo sharing services, lets you upload images and embed them directly into your blog or a forum. With a click of the mouse, you can instantly upload your image to your Flickr account, an FTP server or Skitch’s own photo hosting site,. This is great for quick saves and sharing an image with friends.īut even better is Skitch’s Webpost feature. This includes to you hard drive, desktop, into an email or an IM. Through use of the “Drag Me” tab, you can drag your created image anywhere you can ordinarily drop an image file. However, once the image is edited, Skitch also excels at putting the image to work. In most cases, this prevents you from having to open an external image editor in order to fine tune your image for upload. By dragging the corners of the window, you can resize the image to a precise size, you can crop it by dragging the corners of the image, you can also draw on the image to highlight important elements or add text to the work. Unlike most screen capture programs, which just allow you to save your grab, Skitch lets you edit your photo without leaving the app. You also have the option to view Skitch, which then allows you to drag and drop other images from your computer into the Window. When you see something you want to grab, you can click on the Skitch icon and choose either crosshair snapshot, which enables you to grab just a small section of the screen, full screen snapshot or a snapshot from a camera. It sits both in the dock and the toolbar of your Mac, waiting for you when you need it. Skitch, at its most basic, is a screen grab tool. For me, it has sped up the process of taking screen captures and enabled me to include many more in my posts. Skitch, however, is an exception to that rule and is both a tool that makes my life much more simple and a great service that I don’t know how I got along without.įor any blogger (on a Mac) that takes a modest amount of screen grabs or likes embedding images into his hosts, Sktich provides an easy and powerful service that combines capture, editing and hosting all within the same application. However, I am just as comfortable with my browser and the vanilla WordPress editor as they get the job done just the same. When it comes to blogging, there are very few tools I feel compelled to rave about or wonder how I got along without.įor example, I edit my sites with Mars Edit because it is easier and faster. In late summer 2018, Arches National Park broke ground on an exciting new project-an outdoor night sky viewing space. Perhaps, this spring, that perfect place becomes less of a dream and more of a reality. If only there were the perfect spot that offered true darkness, solitude, and accessibility. Seeing the Milky Way for the first time can be life-changing experience, especially for city dwellers or those who live in light polluted areas. True natural darkness is rare but essential to the desert ecosystem and the visitor experience. One unique aspect of the scenery is the dark night sky. There are many aspects of the scenery at Arches National Park and the surrounding lands- red rock, canyon-cutting rivers, snow-capped mountains, sagebrush, and of course, arches, just about everywhere you look. Great for the family and friends. In 2019, rangers plan on offering star parties at a new location - Panorama Point. The patio outside in the summer time is phenomenal for relaxing and hanging out. A local favorite is Revival Brews, a new brewery with an affection for bluegrass music, a great selection of beer, and an amazing menu. So why not extend it? Head up the road a ways to Kittredge or Evergeen and stop into one of the many shops and restaurants. When you’ve made it all the way down and back to the parking lot, you may be feeling pretty amped up about your super awesome micro adventure. Especially keep an eye and ear out for downhill mountain bikers on your descent. Once you’ve taken in every ounce of beauty on this trail, head back down the way you came on the PPT. Just below that view is the town of Evergreen, and even closer to you is Kittredge. Looking west from here you will clearly see Mt. For those of you who like to hike with hammocks, there are a few nice trees looking out over the view to strap up and chill out. Here it is easy to see why the Panorama Trail is named as such: A rocky outcropping makes for a perfect spot to stop and break, picnic, or hang out. Just a bit farther and you will come to the summit of Panorama Point. You will meet a set of rock stairs signifying that you’re almost there. A short but steep incline, less than half a mile will lead you to the top. Here you will have reached the steepest part of the hike. Because the Bear Creek Trail is also heavily trafficked with mountain bikers, we recommend staying on the Panorama Trail. This time, either direction will take you to the top, but to get there on the BCT you will have to keep an eye out for a somewhat difficult to spot use trail. Very soon after this junction, you will come to yet another intersection with the BCT. As you hike the level terrain for about a quarter of a mile, the path emerges from the shade of the woods and then intersects with the Bear Creak Trail. This steady, gradual incline will lead you further into forest as giant rock formations tower over you on the left. Eventually the trail opens up into a meadow area and begins to flatten out substantially. The trail narrows slightly as you continue gaining elevation. Head straight back into the mountains and you will find yourself strolling through a shady oasis with forest on either sides. The trail will follow this most of the way. Right at the start you will see a seasonal stream to your right. A map of the park is posted on your left, and the trail heads east into the mountain. The trailhead is just a few yards from the parking lot. The parking lot can be easy to miss, but keep an eye out for the Corwina Park sign on your left and you should have little trouble finding it. However, when those parks are packed, you can often still find solitude here at Corwina. These parks tend to be bustling and a bit overcrowded on the weekends. All along Bear Creek Road North, there are a handful of popular destinations like Lair O’ the Bear and O’Fallon Park. Evans and the Continental Divide.Ī drive up Bear Creek Canyon will lead you toward two mountain towns, Kittredge and Evergreen. Once you reach the top you will be rewarded with striking views of Mt. It may be small, but the Panorama Point Trail will give you the sensation of being “out there” without having to travel too far. Panorama Point is one of them.Ĭorwina Park is a little slice of wilderness just outside Denver in the Rocky Mountain foothills. Luckily the Front Range has an extensive number of hikes just an hour away from the Queen City. Sometimes we just need a little micro adventure to satisfy our nature cravings. Unfortunately we can’t always make time to get out into the the thick of the backcountry. With the Rockies as Denver’s backyard playground, it feels like the mountains are constantly beckoning. You will probably want to come back to the game at a later time, but I don’t see it as something that you will want to play all of the time. For this reason I see CROSSBOW: Bloodnight being a game that is better in shorter 15-30 minute doses. The game can get a little repetitive after a while though. With how short each run is, you likely will want to play several games back to back hoping to improve upon your score. Thus the game relies on players playing a bunch of quick games as they try to improve upon their previous high score. Until you get really good at the game, expect most runs to last around a minute or two at the most. That said CROSSBOW: Bloodnight is not a game that you will want to play for long stretches of time. There is something surprisingly satisfying about the gameplay. You are always massively outnumbered, but with your trusty crossbow you can mow down your enemies really quickly. The game does a good job making you feel powerful. It is not a particularly deep game, but there is something fun about trying to mow down demons while trying to stay alive. While the game is kind of simple and can get a little repetitive (you basically just shoot and avoid enemies), I have to admit that the game can be kind of addicting at times. If the game’s premise doesn’t sound all that interesting to you, I don’t think it will be for you. I will say that CROSSBOW: Bloodnight is a game that will not appeal to everyone. While I haven’t played Devil Daggers, CROSSBOW: Bloodnight feels very similar to it. The game only has one arena, and outside of dealing with different types of enemies, the gameplay doesn’t really change no matter how long you survive. There really isn’t a story, or any progression in the game. In a lot of ways CROSSBOW: Bloodnight kind of feels like an arcade game. You just try to survive for as long as possible, while trying to take down as many demons as you can along the way. Simply put the game gets straight to the point, and doesn’t waste you time with a bunch of different mechanics. The game isn’t the deepest, but it really isn’t trying to be. Honestly this basically wraps up everything there is to tell about CROSSBOW: Bloodnight’s gameplay. The ultimate goal of the game is to survive for as long as possible in order to climb the leaderboard. Therefore you need to be constantly moving around the arena killing all of the enemies that get near you. You have limited health as most enemies will kill you within one or two hits. Basically enemies will be constantly spawning and your objective is to kill them before they are able to overwhelm you. Every so often you will also unlock a special ability that lets you deal with a lot of enemies at the same time. In addition to shooting your crossbow, you also have a dodge and jump button. If you aim and shoot though you end up firing a sort of explosive which damages all neighboring enemies. If you hold the shoot button it will autofire like a machine gun. You are basically given a crossbow and you try to survive as long as possible. The gameplay of CROSSBOW: Bloodnight is pretty simple. You must fight back the horde for as long as possible. The year is 1666 and an ancient horror is making its way to our reality bringing many of its nightmare creatures to Earth. Your order is sworn to use their trusty crossbows in order to fight back the forces of hell. In CROSSBOW: Bloodnight you play as a member of The Coven of Crossbow. CROSSBOW: Bloodnight is not the deepest game and may not appeal to everyone, but it can be surprisingly addicting at times for such an affordable game. The gameplay looked really fast paced as you tried to survive for as long as possible. When I was contacted by the developer to check out the game’s Nintendo Switch release though, I was intrigued. On top of that I wouldn’t really consider myself much of a high score chaser. While I enjoy the occasional FPS, I wouldn’t say that it is one of my favorite genres. Released last September on PC, CROSSBOW: Bloodnight is a game that I didn’t really hear a whole lot about. |
